I’m all about easy ways to save money and one of the best ways to save on meat is to add ground turkey to your recipes. However, many people (including some of my family members) doesn’t like the taste of ground turkey. However, that doesn’t mean you have to stray away from using ground turkey in your favorite recipes.
Add Ground Turkey to your Diet!
Ok, don’t freak out on me yet. Ground turkey is actually very tasty. My family doesn’t really prefer it if we are having tacos, but other than that we love it! It takes on the flavor of anything you add it to, so your family may not even notice.
Meals like lasagna, spaghetti, and hamburger helper are all easy ways to add in turkey instead of beef without your family complaining. Soups? Yes, soups work great too. Chili is a differnt
How does this save you money?
Ground turkey is normally HALF the cost of ground beef… literally. You can find ground turkey on sale more often too.
Still not convinced? Take baby steps then…
If you think swapping out ground turkey for the ground beef is going to upset you or your family then try adding the ground turkey to your ground beef. I do this often.
The great thing about ground turkey is it will take on the flavor of anything you mix it with… SO if you mix it with beef, it will taste like beef. You will still get that delicious beef flavor that your family loves, but you will still save some money by adding in the ground turkey.
This is great for any meal! I often will do a one to one ratio. That means if I use 1 pound of ground beef then I will mix it with one pound of ground turkey. My favorite is to do this for chili.
