Materials

  • 2 1/2 cups Water - Use distilled water or tap water
  • Roll of Paper Towels - We like using Viva Paper Towels
  • 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil - You can also use olive oil
  • Old Baby Wipes Container with Lid
  • 2 Tablespoons Baby Bath Wash - You can also use baby shampoo

Instructions

  • Step 1 - Using a sharp knife, I cut the Viva paper towel roll in half (or close enough). You only need half right now. You can save the other half for next time.
  • Step 2 - Place the paper towels in the baby wipes container. I placed mine cut side down so its easier to pull the wipes out later - plus it gives a cleaner look.
  • Step 3 - In a small saucepan, bring the  water,  coconut oil and baby wash to a simmer. Let cool. Pour liquid over paper towel roll in container.
  • Step 4 - The paper towel roll will immediately look water logged. Press the paper towels down with your palm, just so the height is equal the height of the container. Place the lid on top of the container. DO NOT pull out the cardboard center yet. Trust me, it will tear and make a mess. Don't do it yet.
  • Step 5 - Once the lid is on the container, turn it upside down. You can put a towel underneath if you like. I did not have any trouble with the liquid leaking out. Let sit upside down for about 10 minutes.
  • Step 6 - After about 10 minutes, flip your baby wipes container right side up and remove the lid. Pull up on the cardboard tube in the center of the paper towels. Pull it out slowly so you don't rip it.
  • Step 7 - As you pull the tube out, the paper towel from the center should pop up, too. If it doesn't the center should be pretty easy to find. Pull out the center paper towel so it sticks out.
  • Step 8 - Place the lid back on the wipes container. Pull the cloth wipe through the lid and you are good to go!
