Equipment

  • Metallic looking wrapping paper with each side a different color. (You can find these at Walmart, Target, and most dollar stores)
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue
  • Cardboard Tubing (you can use paper towel tubes, gift wrap tubes or toilet paper tubes)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Cut the Cardboard tubes
  • Take the cardboard tubing and cut it into approximately one inch rings. It is ok to flatten the tubes some when you cut them, just be sure when you are done cutting them you shape them back.
  • Step 2: Cut the Wrapping paper into 1 inch strips.
  • Now you need to cut the wrapping paper in to one inch strips. If they are not exact it is ok, just try and get the around that size. You will need two strips for each ring.
  • Step 3: Glue the Strips to the rings.
  • To start the wrapping we need to secure one end of a strip to the cut tube. To do this use small dot of hot glue.
  • Step 4: Wrap the paper around the rings.
  • Now we can start wrapping it around the ring. Each time you run a piece inside the ring do a small twist of it. By doing that you will flip it over and you will end up with alternating colors on the out side of the ring. When you run out just start the next piece just like you did the first. When you have the ring fully wrapped end the tail of the wrap so it is on the inside and secure it with a dab of hot glue. Your ring will look similar to the one below.
  • Step 5: Slide in a cloth napkin.
