Supplies
- Metallic looking wrapping paper. You want each side to be a different color. You can find these at Walmart, the dollar store, and some craft stores.
- Scissors
- Hot Glue
- Cardboard Tubing. You can use a paper towel roll, gift wrap tubes or toilet paper rolls.
Step By Step Instructions
Step 1: Cut the Cardboard tubes
Take the cardboard tubing and cut it into approximately one inch rings. It is ok to flatten the tubes some when you cut them.
Just be sure when you are done cutting them you shape them back.
Step 2: Cut the Wrapping paper into 1 inch strips.
Now you need to cut the wrapping paper in to one inch strips. They do not have to be precise.
Just try and get them around that size. You will need two strips for each napkin holder.
Step 3: Glue the Strips to the rings.
To start the wrapping we need to secure one end of a strip to the cut tube. To do this, use a small dot of hot glue.
Step 4: Wrap the paper around the rings.
Now, we can start wrapping it around the top of the napkin ring making sure to cover the edges of the napkin ring. Each time you run a piece inside the ring do a small twist of it. By doing that, you will flip it over and end up with alternating colors on the out side of the ring.
When you run out, just start the next piece just like you did the first. When you have the ring fully wrapped end the tail of the wrap so it is on the inside.
Secure it with a dab of hot glue. Your ring will look similar to the one below.
Step 5: Slide in a cloth napkin for a festive touch.
