Equipment

  • Sculpey Clay
  • Small Rubber Stamps
  • Small Rubber Stamp Letters
  • Brown Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Towel
  • 8mm Jump Rings
  • Jewelry Pliers
  • Toothpick
  • Wax Paper
  • Baking Sheet lined with Foil
  • Metal Necklaces

Instructions

  • Knead a color of clay until smooth. Shape into a round or oblong shape and use rubber stamps to press the shape into the clay.
  • Use a toothpick to create a hole in the top center. Place onto baking sheet lined with foil. Repeat for the desired number of charms.
  • Bake charms according to package directions: Preheat oven to 275 and bake clay, 15 minutes per 1/4" of clay. Let cool completely.
  • Remove charms from baking sheet and place on wax paper. Lightly dampen a paper towel.
  • Use brown paint to pain the charms and then immediately wipe paint away, leaving it in the lower areas of the clay. Repeat until all pieces are painted. Let set to dry.
  • Use jewelry pliers to open jump rings and place in the hole in the charm. Hang charms on necklaces.
