Ingredients for DIY BODY BUTTER RECIPE:
- ¼ Cup Shea Butter
- ¼ Cup Cocoa Butter
- ¼ Cup Coconut Oil
- ¼ Cup Joboba Oil
- 25-30 drops of Essential Oils (Optional)
How to make diy body butter:
- Add all the ingredients except the essential oils to a sauce pan.
- Heat on low until all the ingredients are completely melted and combined.
- Remove the pan off the heat and allow the oils to solidify either at room temperature or put it in the freezer to sped up the process. You’ll want it to be slightly a solid but not completely. When you touch the mixture your finger should leave an indentation.
- If you want to add the essential oils, you can add them at this point. You do not want to heat essential oils as it could cause chemical changes in the oils. I like to use Lavender Essential Oil or Peppermint Essential Oil.
- Then mix the ingredients with a hand mixer or you can use a stand mixer. You’ll want to mix it for at least 15 minutes. You’ll know it’s done because it’ll look like whip cream.
- Store in an air tight glass jar for use. Enjoy!
