I cannot believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Of course, I think I say that every year! Some how it always seems to sneak up on me. As I am getting ready for having family over, I started compiling some of my favorite can pumpkin dessert recipes. There are so many different desserts using canned pumpkin that go well beyond the traditional pumpkin pie.
Don’t get me wrong, I always make the traditional pumpkin pie, my family wouldn’t let me hear the end of it if I didn’t. However, I do like to mix things up and add some different can pumpkin dessert recipes. Here are 10 of my favorite desserts – my family loves them, too.
1. Pumpkin Cheesecake
This Pumpkin Cheesecake probably my FAVORITE can pumpkin dessert recipe. I do have to tell you I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin pie. Don’t judge me, I’m just not. This Pumpkin Cheesecake, however, is just the right mix of pumpkin and cheesecake and it is very easy to make! You don’t need a springform pan or any fancy equipment, but this will taste like a professional baker made it. Give it a try. I’m confident you’ll love it as much as I do!
2. Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler
Doesn’t this Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler look delicious? I have a soft spot for cobblers. There is something about the warm spiced cobbler paired with ice cream that I just can’t say no to. What about you? Are you a cobbler lover? Give this recipe a try. It is easy to make and will impress even the most discerning palates.
3. Pumpkin Roll
Have you ever made a roll? I was always intimidated, but I was pleasantly surprised at how this Pumpkin Roll turned out. It was much easier to make then I thought it would be and it tasted great, too. This looks really fancy and would be great to take to a get together. Everyone will be impressed with your baking prowess. 😉
4. Pumpkin Pie Crescents
These Pumpkin Pie Crescents are a very easy dessert to make and are a great dessert to have the kids help you with. This might be a fun dessert to add to the Thanksgiving spread. My kids aren’t huge pumpkin pie fans, so I bet they would love this alternative dessert.
5. Pumpkin Cookies
These Pumpkin Cookies are highly requested by my kids! They took them in their lunches one day and all their friends loved them, too. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, when I ask my boys what kind of cookies they want me to make they inevitably say “Pumpkin Cookies!” Don’t worry, they are very easy to make.
6. Pumpkin Delight
Doesn’t this Pumpkin Delight look heavenly? You probably have most of the ingredients to make this delicious pumpkin dessert right in your pantry! This dessert is not too sweet or heavy, but is creamy and oh so good. Give this yummy dessert a try.
7. Pumpkin Cupcakes
Talk about an easy dessert! These Pumpkin Cupcakes taste like fall, if that’s possible. I love the spiced cupcake so much and when its paired with this cream cheese frosting… enough said, right? I mean, can you ever go wrong with cream cheese icing? Just sayin’…
8. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars
Can you really ever go wrong with chocolate? Not in my book! That’s why I love these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars. With a little bit of canned pumpkin, some chocolate and a handful of ingredients in your pantry, you will have these bars baking in no time.
9. Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats
We love rice krispies treats at our house! I mean, we really, really love them. So why not add a little pumpkin to this classic dessert and turn it into a new fall favorite? This is another great recipe to have the kids help you with. My kids can practically make these with their eyes closed we make them so much. 😉
10. Pumpkin Poke Cake
With only 7 ingredients, this Pumpkin Poke Cake is on my “must try” list! This recipe starts with a boxed cake mix so what can be easier then that? Let’s be honest, some of my favorite dessert recipes start that way! Anyway, this recipe starts with a cake mix and ends with Heath Bars bits. Sounds good, right? It sure does to me! I will definitely be making this soon.
Do you have a favorite can pumpkin dessert recipe? Do you have an old tried and true or are you looking for something new to make this year? I’d love to hear from you.
