6 Organizing Tips and Tricks for Disney World:
Learn the best tips to ensure a successful trip to Disney World. The entire family will have a blast with these tips.
Let’s get started with the Best Tips for Disney World!
1. Book your Fast Past Selections for rides.
Many newbies overlook this and get to Disney World and have to wait hours to ride an attraction. Using Fast Passes will definitely save your sanity and it’s included in the price of theme park admission.
Why not skip the line for select attractions, shows and character greetings? Yes, please!
You can reserve this 30 days in advance or if you are staying onsite Disney, you get a head start at 60 days in advance! This extra 30 days makes a HUGE difference when trying to snag POPULAR character meet and greets and rides!
Planning ahead makes for a much greater selection and diminished wait times! Visiting Walt Disney World will go much smoother if you book fast passes.
2. Make Advanced Dining Reservations
Making dining reservations for popular character meals and restaurants will save your sanity. This will also help to avoid any disappointment from children hoping to dine with their favorite character only to find out there are no time slots.
While you can just drop by, the chances are slim to none that you will get a reservation.
Reservations can be made 180 days in advance. For guests staying on Disney Property, you get the benefit of making all your dining reservations at once up to 10 days.
Those staying off property, will need to book reservations one at a time daily if starting at 180 days as they are not allowed to do 10 days at one time.
This means that those staying on site have a great chance of getting those popular reservations. This is definitely a sanity saver!
3. Bring bubbles.
I know this may seem odd but I promise you will be happy you did this if you have young children. Go to Dollar Tree and buy a pack of small wedding bubbles or order them on Amazon.
They are very very small and will not take up much room. Put several in a zip lock bag and when you are waiting in a long line to ride an attraction or waiting at a vendor and the kids are melting down and it’s incredibly hot……take out the bubbles!
The distraction will be just what they need and you will be the most popular Mom in line. I have even handed these out to kids behind us because they were so amazed.
Once it was time to get on the attraction, they all go back into the zip lock bag until next time……
Crises averted. You can thank me later 🙂
4. Plan in advance what is important to each child
There is no way that everyone will be able to do everything while at Disney World. Trying will only stress everyone out and make the trip less magical.
Many families will be traveling with small children and teenagers so not everyone will enjoy the same activity.
Ask each child what their top 2 wish list items are for Disney World. Anything else accomplished above this is just a bonus.
Getting an idea before hand will help you plan what to do each day and hopefully each child will get to do what is important to them. One child may have meeting Mickey Mouse and eating at Chef Mickey on the top of their list.
Another child may have riding the Tea Cups at Magic Kingdom and meeting Elsa as their top priorities. While another has their heart set on Animal Kingdom.
5. Purchase the Memory Maker
While this is not the most frugal option, it is such a sanity saver. I cannot tell you the vacations I have been on where you would never know because all the pictures have everyone but myself in them!
The Memory Maker allows you to easily have wonderful family vacation memories with the entire family in them!
Disney has photographers located all over Disney World at hundreds of locations. This includes select attractions and dining locations as well as randomly placed around the park.
The photos are connected to your online Disney account with a touch of your MagicBand or card.
You can view, download and share your Disney PhotoPass memories on MyDisneyPhotoPass and on the My Disney Experience Mobile App.
If you plan on buying pictures at Disney Park, you will save money by purchasing Memory Maker.
6. Stay on site Disney
I know many will suggest staying off site to save money but staying on site will save your sanity. Plus, if you stay at a Value Level resort the cost is very affordable to stay at Walt Disney World Resort.
I really think this is one of those areas that you might spend less somewhere else in order to stay at a Disney hotel.
The convenience of having free transportation to the Disney Parks is invaluable while staying at a Disney hotel. It’s so nice if you have children that want to take a nap but older children that still want to stay and play at the theme park.
One parent can easily hop on the bus back to the hotel with the little ones while the older ones stay with the other parent. It’s much less of a hassle then finding your car and leaving and coming back again to get the rest of the family.
You can also hop on a bus from your hotel to Disney Springs or one of the water parks. Disney World vacations have so much to offer.
Plus, as you saw above, staying on site has many perks that off site guests are not allowed.
