Why We Love This

Activated charcoal helps to whiten teeth and also remove stains. You will see results over time the more frequently you use this.

I like this better than strips and whitening pen.

Ingredients

Supplies for Charcoal Teeth Whitener- activated charcoal powder, baking soda, coconut oil, peppermint essential oil, container.

Step By Step Instructions

Coconut Oil in a bowl.

Step 1. Put the 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in a small mixing bowl.  I left mine in solid form and did not melt it as you want to form a paste. However,  you can soften the oil if you find that the ingredients are difficult to combine.

Charcoal powder and baking soda mixed into coconut oil in mixing bowl.

Step 2. Add the 1 tablespoon of baking soda and ½ teaspoon of the activated charcoal powder to the bowl.  Be careful with the activated charcoal powder as it’s a fine black powder. It can cause a mess if you are not careful with it.

Mixture combined together in bowl.

Step 3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until a paste is formed. Add a few drops of the essential oil of your choice.  I would use a peppermint essential oil as it would have a mint flavor similar to toothpaste.

How to Use

Step 4. Store in the small storage container.

Apply a small amount on a toothbrush. Brush your teeth 3 times a week with this paste for a month to reduce tooth discoloration. After 4 weeks, reduce to once per month.

You want to use Activated Charcoal Powder to whiten your teeth. Be prepared to see a brighter smile. This type of charcoal is a fine powder made from coconut shells, wood, and natural substances that are oxidized under extreme heat.

What causes teeth to become discolored?

While food and beverage (cola, coffee, red wine and more) can discolor teeth, there are other factors. Age, illnesses and some medications can cause discoloration.
