What Do You Need to Make Multi-Purpose Cleaner?

We have 2 different options for those that prefer vinegar and if you prefer not to use vinegar. Both of these work great and you can use the option that works best for your family.

All Purpose Cleaner Recipe

  • Water – We recommend using distilled water to extend the shelf life.
  • White Distilled Vinegar – For best results using white vinegar
  • Grapefruit Essential Oil and Lemon Essential Oil – This provides the best citrus scent for your cleaner. Feel free to use your favorite essential oil that you prefer.
  • Spray Bottle – We like using a glass bottle

All Purpose Cleaner Without Vinegar

  • Baking Soda – This is a great cleaner especially if try to get sticky stuff off a surface. Substitute with Washing Soda.
  • Liquid Castille Soap – Highly concentrated and a lot goes a long ways. You can also use a Dish Soap or any liquid soap.
  • Water – We recommend using distilled water but tap water is great too

Homemade Clean Variations

  • Tea Tree Oil – I always like to keep this essential oil on hand because it helps to cut grease and germs. Just a few drops of essential oil makes the best addition to your cleaner.
  • Other Essential Oil – Add drops of your favorite essential oils for a different scent – Lavender, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon
  • Lemon Juice – Lemon Juice is a great addition to your natural cleaner for amazing citrus smell. We usually squeeze ½ a lemon into our cleaner mixture.

How to Make DIY All Purpose Cleaner

For both cleaner options, pour all of the ingredients into the spray bottle and shake to blend. It is that easy to make and so quick and easy.

Your surfaces will be clean and smell so fresh. This is one of our favorite cleaners.

Expert Tips

  • Surface Cleaner – Natural cleaner may not work on all surfaces. We do not recommend clean natural stone such as granite as it could cause pitting on the marble.
  • Spray Bottle – We recommend labeling the bottle to ensure you are using fresh ingredients for the best possible results when cleaning your home.
  • Microfiber Cloth – Anytime we clean we love using a microfiber cloth for the best results.
  • Vinegar – I like to buy the gallon size of vinegar because I blend it to make homemade cleaner throughout the year.

Hi and thanks for sharing! These are two very different cleaning solution recipes. I’m trying to decide between the two and wondering why some people might not want to use vinegar?
