What can I use in place of beeswax? I am extremely allergic to all bee/wasp stings and have reacted to another cream made with beeswax. Thanks!
Soy wax is a great alternative! Thanks Kristin!
What can I use to substitute Shea butter for? More beeswax? Or coconut oil?
Amanda – You could use more coconut oil or cocoa butter is a great alternative!
Can I use the clear soap glycerin instead of the Vegetable glycerin
Yes, any glycerin would work. Thanks!
how long does it last ??
3-6 months
I love this pain rub and so do my friends I gifted it with. I think I read that it was best to keep it in the fridge. Is that true? It is so hard if you do that. Can I just store it in a cupboard?
I don’t keep mine in the fridge. You have to whip the coconut oil for awhile (15-20 minutes) to get it fluffy but it stays that way without being kept in the fridge. Thanks!
Thank you. And you say it keeps for 3 to 6 months. What happens if I keep it longer?
How many 4 oz jars does this recipe make?
This makes approximately 2-4 oz jars of the muscle cream. Thank you.
I am very allergic to coconut in any form due to my nut allergy. Is there something I can use to replace it? Thanks. Vicki
Vicki – You could use either shea butter or jojoba oil. I think either one of these would work great for the muscle cream. Thank you!
Would this be more like a salve or do I need to add water to make it more of a cream-like texture? Also, would I need an emulsifying agent as well as beeswax? Thanks!
