Let’s get started with these tips on how to use dry shampoo powder.
How do u use dry shampoo:
1. Don’t spray dry shampoo on the scalp.
You actually want to spray on the hair, right above the scalp. It will soak up the oil in the hair giving you that “just washed” look.
2. Spray underneath the hair section.
Don’t grab a can and start spraying. That won’t work. You want to section the top of your hair off into pieces.
Lift up a piece and then spray underneath the hair. Then lay the hair down.
Go to the next piece. The trick is to always spray under the section of hair.
3. Don’t spray so close and don’t use too much.
You want to actually spray 3-4 inches away from the hair. Give it room to spread out.
That being said you don’t want to use too much either. It won’t take much.
4. Use the correct dry shampoo.
If you have dark hair, you need a darker shampoo. Even our homemade option can work for for darker hair.
You will also find some that will work for both blondes and brunettes. This DIY Dry Shampoo is ideal for blondes and brunettes and will soak up any excess oil in your hair.
5. Only apply it to the top of your head.
Sure, the underneath of your hair gets greasy too, but it will be our little secret. You only need to apply it to the top of the hair.
Just lift up a section and spray. That will help the top be less flat and feel less greasy.
6. Massage the dry shampoo in.
After you have applied it to your hair, let it sit for 2-3 minutes and then rub in it. Just use your finger tips and massage it in.
That will help distribute it thoroughly throughout the hair. You can even brush it through.
7. Try it at night.
If you know you are going to need dry shampoo the next day, try using it at night before you go to bed. That will allow it to soak up any oil while you sleep.
8. Don’t skip the real shampoo.
It is not a cleanser. It’s simply a powder that sops up excess oil, which helps in between shampooing.
