4th of July centerpiece

I’m super excited about 4th of July and I wanted to share this super easy 4th of July centerpiece. I’m always looking for frugal 4th of July Decorations so I have to get creative.

Let’s face it. Decorations can be very expensive. This easy one was not!

I spent $6 on this… yep only $6. Now I did reuse some of the items from my house, so let me explain. I hope that this easy and frugal centerpiece will give you some inspiration for frugal 4th of July Decorations for your table.

We ran to Target to snag some of the supplies but the dollar store would work as well.  The Dollar spot is always fun and that sparked my inspiration!

Some of the items I already had and I always shop my house first. This is a must for frugal decorations and also helps with bringing in unnecessary items into your house.

Use what you have first and save time and money!

This is what I bought for the dollar store centerpiece:

  • (2) 4th of July pinwheels – they were $1 each
  • Red Tissue paper – from the party section for $1
  • A fourth of July scarf in the dollar spot for $3

This is what I used from around my house:

2 Champagne flutes – I never drink champagne out of these because I’m always using them for decorations. 🙂

The candle with red ribbon. I had this in my cabinets from Christmas. The glass and the candle and ribbon are all from Dollar Tree.

I then painted by candle with my homemade mod podge and then rolled it in glitter I had in my craft box. It was really easy to do and I was able to use it for Christmas and 4th of July. WIN!

I love being able to re-purpose decorations from one season to the next. That is a huge money saver and a must around here!

How to make 4th of July Centerpiece:

Once you have your candle done or re-purposed you need a table runner.

I was really proud of myself. I thought using a scarf as a table runner was so creative and very frugal. Runners can be very pricey!

You want to bunch it up so it looks fuller. You can lay it out flat if you have a longer table. Place your candle in the middle.

Next I simply stuffed two pieces of tissue paper in each champagne flute with the beautiful pinwheels.  These went on either side of the candle.

You have to admit – it looks so cute. My girls… we they just love it. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, they have to take a minute to blow on the pinwheels.

So fun! And really any glass or mason jar would work for these pinwheel decorations. Just use what you already have.

It is so fun to get creative and make decorations from what you already have. We just love to re-purpose items.

Another idea is to use mason jars instead of the flutes. That would be so fun and look adorable at your next July party.

Table decor does not have to be complicated with so many fun ideas. Many of these decor ideas could also double as a party favor.

Kids can take a pinwheel as they leave the party. I love items that pull double duty.
