My girls love unicorns so I thought why not make a DIY Unicorn Pencil holder. This is adorable sitting on a desk or in a craft corner.

Even better, all of the supplies came from the dollar store making this a very inexpensive DIY. You are going to love how simple and easy this is!

I think it would also be cute to make these ahead of time to use for party favors at a unicorn themed birthday party. So fun and another cool idea to try!

How to make unicorn pen stand:

This is a super easy craft. Make sure you have a good glue gun. You will use need one of this craft and extra glue sticks.

I used an empty soup can for this craft but anything will work. Just save a can the next time you use one.

How do you make a homemade pencil holder?

If you prefer to make a plain pencil holder, just leave off the unicorn embellishments. You can use scrapbook paper to glue on the can for other ideas.

This might be an idea if you have another child that does not like unicorns and you want to make them a pencil holder too.

Supplies for this unicorn craft:

Empty Can – Label removed and washed – I used an empty soup can.
White Construction Paper
Glitter Foam Paper or Paper
Fake Flowers – I used pink but use your favorite colors
Black Sharpie or Marker

*All supplies were found and purchased at the local dollar store.

How to make a unicorn pencil holder:

Cut the white construction paper to fit perfect around the outside of the can.

Secure the paper to the can with a hot glue gun.

Next cut out a triangle from the glitter foam paper to create your unicorn horn (the base is 2 inches and the sides are both 4 inches) and cut the flowers off the stems.

Glue the unicorn horn onto the front of the can. I glued mine approximately 2 inches from the top of the can.

Glue the flowers at the base of the unicorn horn.

Then with the sharpie draw your favorite unicorn eyes. We love using simple ones with delicate eye lashes! Just do what you prefer!
