Dollar general coupon policy

Today I wanted to go over the Dollar General coupon policy, so you can save a lot of money with your coupons. This is an easy way to save money when shopping.

Dollar General accepts:

  • Both Manufacturers’ Coupons and Dollar General Store Coupons

This includes:

  • original paper coupons
  • valid print-at-home coupons
  • Dollar General Digital Coupons

Can you price match?

Dollar general does not match competitor prices.

Does Dollar General take Manufacturer coupons?

Yes, they do. Their prices are already low and coupons will help save even more.

  • Limit of 5 identical coupons per household per day,
  • Free item coupons are only accepted if a purchase is required to get one free. For example, a BOGO coupon would be accepted because there is a purchase required for the free item.
  • The coupon must have a barcode that scans or a valid Dollar General promotion code that can be scanned by a DG store associate.

Can you stack coupons?

Get excited because they allow stacking. Their coupon policy states that coupon stacking is allowed in certain situations.

Only one Manufacturer Coupon and one Dollar General Coupon can be used per item in a transaction. Stacking of 2 or more Manufacturer Coupons per item is not allowed.

The Dollar General Coupon Policy states that they accept two coupons per item. One must be a Dollar General Coupon and one must be a Manufacturer’s Coupon which is called Stacking.

You will be able to get the most savings when you use can use both coupons on one item. You can see all the Dollar General Digital coupons.

Does Dollar General give overage?

Yes, they do. If the coupon is more than the price of the item, the remaining amount will go toward your balance at checkout.

For example: If you are buying toothpaste for $1 and your coupon is for $1.50, the additional $0.50 will be applied to your balance.

They will not issue cash back at the end of the transaction. All coupon overages will be applied to the balance only.

Where do you get Dollar General Digital coupons?

Digital Coupons can be found on their website or via the Dollar General App. Digital coupons can be a dg store coupon and some can be a manufacturer coupon as noted on the coupon.

Unless otherwise noted, the stacking of 2 or more Dollar General Coupons in a single transaction is allowed.

These digital coupons can help you save significantly in store. You can save even more when you combine the coupons with a valid dollar general promotion.

Tip: It is always a good idea to print out and take the policy with you in case you have any trouble at the register.

  1. Also, not sure if it was from this site or another, but you can use your PayPal act and get $5 off $20, I’m hoping it lasts long enough to stack with their in store coupon they tend to have quite frequently of $5 off $25 (usually this is specific to a Friday or Saturday). I’ll be on the lookout and let you know if it happens! Also, the $5 off $25 can be printed at home and also prints at the end of their receipt earlier in the week.

  2. I am having MAJOR issues with my Dollar General refusing to take a BOGO coupon AND a $/1 coupon. Their District Manager told me that they do not accept a $$/1 in combination with a BOGO coupon. No where in their policy does it state that they DO NOT accept these in combination. Any thoughts?

  3. everytime i print a coupon it’s a manufacture’s coupon.. only two were in store coupons so i can’t stack
