Why We Love This

The possibilities are endless with this pretty bouquet. While this one is specifically for Valentine’s Day, you can use the same idea for any holiday!

We have made a variation for Easter, Valentine’s Day, Christmas and even Halloween. Just substitute the Valentine’s candy for other seasonal treats.

It turns out so pretty and you don’t need any special skills. Plus, the supplies needed are very inexpensive and come together for a great gift.

This bouquet is also great for a friend’s birthday to make your best friend feel extra special. You might also like to learn How to Make an Origami Heart for a fun activity or gift.

Supplies

  • 1 Large clear vase
  • 1 clear vase that is skinnier
  • candy hearts
  • fresh flowers (or you could use fake)
  • water if you are using fresh flowers

Step By Step Instructions

Large vase ready to use.

Step 1. Get out a glass vase. This needs to be the larger size.

Skinny vase inside a larger vase.

Step 2. Then place the smaller clear vase in the middle. You will want to make sure it is skinnier so your candy hearts will fit. The skinny vase in the middle is so you can hold your water for the fresh flowers.

Step 3. Next, fill the space between the clear vases with the candy hearts. Make sure you don’t get any in the middle vase. Then add water to the center vase if you are using fresh roses. Be careful not to get water outside the inner vase or the candy will get wet.

Flours added to the vase.

Step 4. Add beautiful fresh flowers to the center to make a fun Valentine’s Day bouquet. You can choose your favorite type and color of flowers to make a vibrant bouquet. Roses, daisies, lilies and more are great ideas. I like to use seasonal blooms.

Valentine Candy Vase Ideas

  • Flowers. We used roses but feel free to use any type of flowers you like. Carnations would also be gorgeous. You can also use fake flowers as fresh is just an option for flower arrangements. Feel free to use any substitutions of flowers you prefer for the freshest bouquet or add additional flowers of highest quality.
  • Candy. Substitute chocolate candies for conversation hearts. Cinnamon hearts would also look great.
  • Bow. Tie a bow around the vase for a festive touch. Coordinate the ribbon to match the color scheme of your arrangement or overall theme.
  • Candy bouquet. Instead of flowers, make a candy bouquet. Attach candy bars on skewers and place in the inner vase for a great Valentine’s Day gift for any recipient. I love to make this DIY Candy Bouquet.
  • Gift Cards. Make this a gift and tuck a gift card in between the flowers. You can choose gift cards for coffee, retail stores or their favorite restaurant.
  • Heart shaped vase. Sometimes, you can find heart shaped clear vases at the dollar store. This would be so fun and festive for Valentine’s Day.
  • Vase. You can use a different vase as long as one is larger, and one is smaller, and it fits inside.
