DIY Easter Treat Pouch

This craft is very simple! The main material needed is felt in an assortment of colors. You create a little egg pouch to tuck inside a fun sized pack of candy. You can order a big bag on Amazon for a good deal and they have a nice selection. I love all the pretty pastel packages. I just think these are so precious and how fun to make with your kids. You can sew and they can stuff each pouch with a pack of candy! I know their classmates will love receiving this fun gift. This would also be a thoughtful gift to take to a nursing home. What a nice surprise for the residents to receive.

You will need matching thread and needle for this project. I purchased one of these sewing kit sets on Amazon and it’s been so handy. It was nice not having to go around buying all sorts of thread.

How to make DIY Easter Treat Pouch:

Step (1)

Prepare the patterns from the template by printing them into your required size and cutting out. The template includes a whole egg pattern, a half egg pattern and 4 different shapes. You can also create your own custom shapes. Trace the 2 parts of the egg patterns on the selected felt fabric. Cut out the small shape patterns from different colored scrap felt fabrics.

Step (2)

Prepare needle and thread and take the smaller part of the egg pouch pattern. Start stitching the small shape patterns on this piece from the top edge. I simply placed the shapes on the piece and did running stitch over them to attach with the pouch pattern.

Step (3)

Stitch each line of shapes horizontally on the egg pouch pattern.

Step (5)

Now take the whole egg pattern and place the smaller (patterned) one on the top of the whole egg pattern; match the bottom ends of both pieces. Now simply stitch around the sides to join both pieces but make sure to keep the top side of the smaller pattern open. After done stitching tie a tight knot and cut off extra thread.

Easter Felt Crafts

Place the treats inside the egg pouch and done! Use different colored felt fabrics and different shape cutouts for more variation.

Enjoy! These are going to really brighten someone’s day when you hand them out! So cute!

We like using candy but sometimes I will mix things up and use some of these non candy ideas. Stickers or small items work really well too. I can buy a huge pack of 100 stickers on Amazon for less than a small pack at my local retail store. I always can find ways to use stickers and I try to donate some to my child’s teacher as well.
