Ingredients

Ingredients for slime - marshmallows, olive oil, corn starch.
  • 12 Large Marshmallows
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoon Corn Starch

Step By Step Instructions

Marshmallows in a bowl.

Step 1. Place the white marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl. We prefer to use large marshmallows. However, you can also use mini marshmallows or jumbo marshmallows in this fun edible slime recipe.

Olive oil combined with marshmallows and melted.

Step 2. Add the olive oil to the melted marshmallows. Heat in the microwave for approximately 45 seconds to soften the marshmallows. You can also use another type of cooking oil such as coconut oil or vegetable oil.

  • Step 3. Then add 1 Tablespoon of the corn starch to the mixing bowl and watch slime form. Stir with a spoon until well combined. Be careful as the mixture will be hot.
  • Step 4. Allow to cool. Once it has cooled some, sprinkle the table or mat with corn starch.  Then place the slime on the mat and sprinkle more corn starch on top of it. This step will help as the marshmallow fluff slime is super sticky.
  • Step 5. Sprinkle your hands with cornstarch. Knead with your hands until the slime is formed and a super stretchy consistency. Now everyone can play with slime and have a blast with this sweet marshmallow slime.

Storage

Place the slime inside an airtight container. If it dries out, you can add a few drops of oil.

Variations

  • Food Coloring. Feel free to add food colouring to this recipe if you want the slime to be colored. Add a few drops of food coloring until it is the desired color. You can let the kids choose the color and make a couple of different batches.
  • Sprinkles. Add a tablespoon or 2 of sprinkles to the marshmallow mixture for a fun pop of color. You can use rainbow sprinkles or seasonal sprinkles depending on the occasion. Rainbow sprinkles would be so much fun to use for a birthday.
  • Powdered Sugar. You can use powdered sugar instead of corn starch if you have that on hand.
