Ingredients

Ingredients for clear slime - clear glue, baking soda, saline solution.
  • 1 5 oz container of Clear Glue. I like to use Elmer’s clear glue.
  • ½ tsp of Baking Soda
  • 1 Tablespoon Saline Solution. Make sure to use contact lens solution with boric acid in it. This is super important!

Step By Step Instructions

Glue and baking soda combined in a bowl.

Step 1. First, pour the clear glue in a large bowl. Next, stir in the ½ teaspoon baking soda until well combined.

Contact solution combined into glue mixture.

Step 2. Then slowly add in the tablespoon of contact solution to activate the slime.

Slime stretched in hands.

Step 3. Once the glue mixture begins to pull away from the bowl and stick to the spoon, remove from the bowl and mix with your hands.

Slime stretched in hands until the correct texture.

Step 4. Knead with your hands until the slime forms and there aren’t any air bubbles.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t add lotion or shaving cream. We do not recommend adding lotion or shaving cream to clear slime as it make it opaque and not clear. This will change the appearance of the slime and will no longer be clear.
  • Change the consistency. If the slime is too sticky, add more saline solution. I would add in ½ tsp intervals until the slime is the consistency that you prefer.
  • Contact Solution with boric acid. It’s important to use contact solution with boric acid so the slime will activate.

Storage

I like to store the slime in a mason jar or ziploc bag to keep it fresh. You can use what you prefer.
