  • 1-½ to 2 yards plaid fabric (Make sure the pattern is on both sides.)
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Seam Ripper (optional but helpful) or safety pin

We chose the Sportswear fabric 52″ wide in black cream buffalo check. (The material was from Joanns and the bolt said: 100% acrylic, dry clean only.) You will need about 2 yards to make the scarf.

Begin to fray your fabric. Start by gently pulling a few pieces of thread away from the fabric. You can use a seam ripper if necessary. Continue to pull away the thread, being careful that you don’t break the strands. Fray the material about 1/2″.
