How to make an owl out of a toilet paper roll
First paint the toilet paper rolls the color of your choice. You can color with markers as well if you prefer. They are both fun and turn out great!
While this is drying. Stack the colors of construction paper that you want to use.
Trace a circle onto the paper. I used the tape dispenser to trace the interior circle and it was the perfect size.
Go ahead and cut all the paper at once to save time. This will save time by doing them all at once.
Next, choose a color for the owl’s wings and cut large tear drops out of this construction paper. Cut a small triangle out of orange paper for the owl’s beak.
Once the toilet paper roll is dried, Reform the roll with your hands to flatten the roll some. Then fold the top in to form the ears of the owl.
Tip: I placed tape onto the interior of the top fold to hold these in place.
Next glue the circles onto the front of the toilet paper roll. I did 3 rows of 3 circles on each row. I rotated the colors for a colorful look but you can definitely choose your favorite designs.
It is easiest to start the circles at the bottom of the toilet paper roll and slightly overlap each row over the next one.
Now it is time to glue on the googly eyes. I just love these!
Finally glue on the wings onto each side of the toilet paper roll. I just glued the front side so that they stick out slightly. Then glue the beak onto the owl slightly below the eyes.
That’s it! I told you this adorable toilet paper roll owl was simple! I think they are super cute and a ton of fun.
