Let’s gets started with this easy tissue paper pom poms tutorial!

How to make small tissue paper pom poms:

My full sheet of tissue paper measured 20″ x 26″ so when I cut a sheet in half, it measures 10″ x 26″. You can cut the ends to be a point or rounded and they create a little different look for the pom poms. I like to experiment with both to get different looking pom poms to use.

With this size sheet (cutting in half) your pom poms will be 8″ in diameter.

Tips for DIY Tissue Paper Pom Poms:

If you use a full sheet, the pom poms will be 15-16″ across. I made one but it was huge. Just keep that in mind.

If you are doing the large pom pom, I’d use 16 sheets of one color.

Instead of fishing line you can use ribbon.

These are a lot of fun to make. Initially you may rip the tissue paper but don’t worry! It will usually fluff just fine and not show up at all.

Starting at the short end, fold the paper so it’s about 1″ wide. Flip it over and fold it again.

Repeat, folding, flipping, folding until you have the entire sheet folded.

Wrap a twist tie around the center and twist tightly. If you hang the pom poms, cut a piece of fishing line and thread it through the twist tie. Knot the end.
